Join Me and Let me show you off to the world! [Jan. 6th, 2009|05:16 am]
[Tags|, , , , ]

Hey Folks,

It's been a crazy year, and an odd start to the new year. I'm not working right now so I have plenty of time to retool old projects and create new layouts, plot and plan, etc etc.

So I'm in talks with stickam to find a new time slot for my web show, an earlier slot, and slot with more potential traffic. A slot where people can comfortably hide behind their cubicle walls and throw me on while the boss isn't looking. So look out for that. It's kind of funny, we get about 20,000 viewers in the course of an hour now, and sometimes I get bummed when it only hits 16,000. (my youtube videos are lucky to even come cloe to 16k usually what an odd world of statistics this internet is).

In the mean time I've been focusing on making things prettier, more interesting and just generally having more content for when I'm not live.

check out the new layout at http://failpire.ning.com/
Check out the random web finds on our Tumblr!
not to mention the hundreds of pictures and videos created and uploaded from members on our ning.

Speaking of members as a part of all the new changes we've come up with an idea for a new segment.

We're going to start doing 'Featured Member Shout Outs', you can already see it being implimented on the Ning. But we're going to start featuring a member profile on the show itself.

So if you're an artist, photographer, musician, video maker etc
• sign up - (it's just like a more intimate version of myspace or facebook)
• fill out your profile,
• upload pictures, videos, songs, etc
• and bamn you're on your way to being featured to our viewers.

Stay Strong
-Samuel Proof

In to the great wide open. [Oct. 27th, 2008|03:47 pm]
[Tags|, , , ]

Friday is my last day at GND, and honestly if I can help it my last day shilling for a living.
I'm ready to figure out at all costs how to keep myself afloat through my own creative means.

I've got some savings, I've got some time to figure this whole thing out.

November is going to be intense, busy and all about art. It's Nanowrimo and I'm taking up the challenge to write a novel in 30 days.
I'm picking up my camera and scheduling photoshoots left and right.

and I'm doing something I've had in my head for almost 2 years now.

I've been wanting desperately to do something longer than a youtube video. I've been dying to make something substantial and of real merit.
A long while ago, probably after I created my first real sketch comedy video I decided I wanted to do something feature length. Then in the months of analyzing just what was within my means I decided that a documentary would be the easiest thing to achieve budget wise. In my head I could fund a documentary on $10K at least for a few months, maybe a year.

It doesn't take much, one or two crew members including myself. No crazy sets to be built, no props to be bought, and with my years of work in the reality TV industry I get how to pull a story out of a pile of random footage. So it just comes down to subject matter, and this Sunday I'll be finalizing that.
Luis Sanchez is an amazing artist, and also a good friend. Originally from Mexico City and surrounded by a family of artisans, dancers and bullfighters. Luis is also suffering from Chronic kidney disease and years of dialysis.

His artwork is like stepping in to another world and finding a 100 year old fresco. The works combine fanciful human forms, nature, typography and a very unique decay. He literally at times chips away at the paintings, cracks it, and uses some other magic to make it appear as though it's been around for years and it's seen better days.

So this is my new project.

I meet with Luis this Sunday, he seems eager to get this started as much as I am.

Come November the world is opening up to me, and it's time for me to grab a big hunk of something. Gotta show it what I can really do.

Yo! What Happened to Peace? [Nov. 24th, 2007|09:30 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , , , ]

So A while back I was invited to enter a design in to a Anti-war poster show called Yo! What Happened to Peace?. I'm not an overtly political man, and it took me a long time to come up with an idea, or more so an ideal that represented me in these trying times.

For months little aspects of a great vision have been forming and finally today they took shape in this.

Yo! What Happened to Peace? Poster Submission

The finished piece will be 11" x 14" and will be silk screened in four colors.

David Wilson Lives [Jun. 27th, 2007|06:46 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , , , ]

Did an interview with my good friend and many of yours as well; David Wilson was my first interview on what I hope to make a weekly series of interviews with local artists, and creative people.

barring a few technical snafus I think it came out pretty good. So check it out. And anyone in LA that would like to be on the show send me a reply.

I'm going to be doing an new online arts webshow, think of it as dash30dash to the nth degree.

I want to start by interviewing and showcasing all my friends.

Let me know what your schedules are like for the rest of June and we'll get things shaking!

what the hell just happened.... [Jan. 19th, 2006|02:44 am]

and how do I make it happen again?

So a friend of mine is opening a new gallery in Downtown LA.

We were talking about showing my art and suddenly it became me curating a show in March or April!

I'm going to see that space next week, and then figure it out... but da-damn! This make me happy.
Where my painters at, yo?

(Monkious I promise, pending that I pull this off, I will get another show for photography!)
